the best part of having money is not having to think about it
the best part of having money is not having to think about it.
if you read my emails, you might have an assumption that i’m a money hungry whore with an insatiable appetite.
i am a bit of a whore, but not for money.
i am ofcourse on top of my businesses’ profits and losses, but i making more money is not top of mind,
i’ve said this multiple times to my friends and maybe even on this newsletter,
the greatest jump in quality of life i had was when i was able to afford steak at the grocery store, without waiting for it to go on sale,
and when i was able to afford to take my date out for dinner and not worry about the cost.
everything beyond that, although a blessing, had diminished returns on how happy it made me.
what’s funny is, despite not chasing dollars, money opportunities keep falling on my lap.
i don’t really know why, but i keep getting better deals, and more businessmen wanting to work with me,
i think the fact i don’t seem money hungry may be the reason,
think about it, if you seemed desperate for something, it's repelling.
i don’t want to sound out of touch here, i recognize a lot of you are in a stage of life where money is on your mind, and it may seem like many of your issues would be solved if your money problems would be solved,
honestly, it’s true.
once money problems are solved, life is easier.
and my argument is, once you have reached that…the pursuit of more is not going to make you feel any better, take it from me.
but your level is different, everyone’s is:
maybe you just need to figure out how to pay bills and have enough left to save for a rainy day,
maybe your heart desires luxury goods because you want to be associated with something fancy, or appreciate the craftsmanship,
or you want to retire your parents, or go to a dream destination, or
to pop champagne bottles with in fine restaurents,
or if you want to influence your corner of the world with your capital,
my argument is once that is level of money is reached, more doesn’t bring you more contentment, in fact, its the opposite.
Because you will keep pushing new heights in order to feel that high of achievement you felt when your personal goal was reached.
that’s a mistake,
because in that case you are chasing someone elses dream.
so with that, take a moment and define what having enough money means to you,
enough where you don’t have to think about it anymore
and if you are willing, write me what that is in a reply, i try to respond to as many as i can.
till next time
